Another money-oriented website: unclaimedmoney dot us dot com is facing legal trouble after authorities smell something vague in its promises. The Associate Press reported that unclaimed money is "is misleading and violates Pennsylvania consumer law." The report continues:
The state attorney general's office sued a Massachusetts man in Commonwealth Court on Friday, saying he and his businesses deceived consumers, violated reporting requirements and did not deliver what they promised.
Pennsylvania investigators put the names of cartoon characters such as Batman, Spiderman and Wile E. Coyote through the site at unclaimedmoney dot us dot com In each instance, the attorney general's office said, they were told multiple sources of unclaimed money were available.
But the free search provided only vague information, and visitors were then offered a $24.95 membership that would result in more details, the office said.
Well, well, well, the missing money is perhaps the $24.95 membership fee. Sounds like Save Toby website.
